Visiting Researcher Program
Requirements for Eligibility
The applicant shall be a graduated of a university or college. However, graduates of junior colleges or of specialized technical or vocational schools shall also e eligible to apply, but in these cases it is to be desired that sush applicants have a few years of actual working experience subsequent to their graduation.
Applicants shall currently be in one or more of the following statuses:
a) employed in a company or other commercial, agricultural or educational enterprise or in government
b) enrolled in a graduate school
c) engaged in teaching, research, or training at a recognized educational or research institution
The applicant shall be an Aglican recommmended by the Aglican bishop of his/her diocese, or a Christian of another denomination recommended by an Aglican bishop.
Appicants shall be 34 years of age or under as of October 1, 2021
Terms of Grant to the Researcher
The number of applicant sto be accepted for the program will be one per year
The period of research in Japan will normally be approximately one and a half years, the first six months being devoted to Japanese language training
Transportation expenses to and from Japan for the Visiting Researcher and living quarters will be provided for the awardee
Tuition will be waived and stipend will be provided in the amount of 100,000 yen per month
The program provides round trip airfare, housing, tuition and stipend
Good proficiency in english is required.

Please note that the maximun age for participation is 35 years age, and also the Williams Fund cannot give scholarships support for programs outside of Japan. The Fund operates only the Visiting Researcher program in Japan, and usually selects only one resercher per year.
